[Patience Juneau]

Qingying was in the library, gathering up some ancient tomes to research a peculiar magical phenomenon when a young boy roughly twelve or thirteen years of age tugged on his robes. He was familiar with Patience, whom he taught once a week in the third year split Gryffindor-Slytherin charms class, and knew him to be attentive and careful in his work. But, he didn't speak. He didn't write, or draw, or gesture either.

[Qingying]

Said magical phenomenon was an old, unoccupied house in Bristol with contents that seemed to be stuck in a loop. Leaves shrivelled up, flaked apart, then reformed like new. Fruits that were experimentally thrown inside the area rotted, and then became whole. Non-organic objects simply remained unchanged. The Ministry had contacted Kardat and he’d confirmed it was not a curse or the direct work of a spell. Currently, employees were combing the house for a magical artefact which may be the cause.

At the tug, Qingying turned around, three thick books in his arms, and smiled at Patience, inviting.

He held up a book, eyes resting somewhere on Qingying's shoulders instead of his face. The title simply read Withering. Patience tapped it and laid his hand on Qingying's wrist before letting go.

[Qingying]

For a moment, his chest tightened as the word was far too similar to the wither spell he’d learned in China decades ago from an old man before his death – one he’d only taught to Laurie and had him lock away in his mind so others would not know of it. His expression and posture remained relaxed, and then his smile grew a little as he reached out to take the book.
“You think this will help me?”

[Patience Juneau]

Patience simply stood there, as though expectant. When Qingying opened the book, Patience reached out and flipped the pages until it landed on a picture of a house.

[Qingying]

Huh.
Qingying was pleased.
“Thanks,” he smiled.

[Patience Juneau]

Patience withdrew his wand from his robes pocket and swished it delicately, producing a small leaf which floated down and landed on top of the picture in the book. He then placed his wand back into his pocket and turned to walk away.

[Qingying]

“Wait a moment,” Qingying requested gently.

[Patience Juneau]

He came to a stop, but didn't turn around, shoulders hunched.

[Qingying]

“I run a club. We learn spells and knowledge outside of the curriculum. Are you interested in coming?”

[Patience Juneau]

He turned around.

[Qingying]

Qingying told him the name of it (which his player still hasn’t decided) and the dates!

Patience swished his wand again and a small, neat ribbon materialized on Qingying's wrist, a deep burgundy in color with an intricate design along the outer edges in platinum.

[Qingying]

Oh how nice.
Qingying raised his hand, gesture casually graceful, and looked at it.
“It’s very pretty.” ^^

With that, Patience about-faced and walked right out of the library.
