Anything Else? Greg's patronus is just about a perfect representation of him. Slow and steady wins the race. The giant tortoise is a patient and ancient creature, and from the time he entered Hogwarts and was immediately Sorted into Slytherin, Greg exhibited all of these traits beyond his years.

Through the years Greg took on the baggage of his parents, disgraced ex-Death Eaters who were pardoned by the Wizengamot following the mass exodus of Voldemort's followers and upon their providing the Ministry with valuable information on still-violent individuals, and many didn't trust him, but he found a home amongst his house. Daniel Russo, Ryan Tarin, Laurie Keelan, Trish Avery and Greg Marshall were inseparable from the time they met and the group allied quickly for their mutual love of puzzles and Quidditch.

At the age of seventeen, Greg, a gifted transfiguration student, was given permission by Minerva McGonagall to pursue the study of becoming an animagus. He achieved his goal seven months later and is registered with the Ministry as, (drumroll please) a giant tortoise which, on his trips to Hogwarts and his friends' children, he's allowed students and kids alike to gather 'round and paint little designs all over. The designs disappear when he transforms back again.

Of them all, Greg chose a career rooted in bureaucracy rather than fighting spirit. Greg's power was with words rather than spells and courage, easily selecting the most appropriate thing to say at any given time. He could talk himself into and out of just about any situation which became a valued asset in his legal practices, and permitted him some renown with potential clients.

In adulthood Greg bonded closely with a grizzled ex-auror, ex-convict named Freddie Bowes, and they adopted a child, Zane, who is now in his final year at Hogwarts and slated to start a strong and vibrant future in professional Quidditch and Cursebreaking at Gringott's. During his time at the Ministry, Greg has taken a more leisurely approach to life as his child is preparing to leave the nest, and has begun pursuing his own magical interests.
