Anything Else? Hugo always hated Granger-Weasley, so he shortened it to plain old Weasley. Rose was furious at him, but he was only nine, and she was already headed for a whirlwind of adventure at Hogwarts before she had the time to care.
The weeks and months leading up, all Rose Granger-Weasley (and proud of it, thank you very much) did was study. She mastered several simple incantations, she learned the history of the building and grounds, she read up on all the famous professors (McGonagall, Blacksworth, Katrin, Euphemeria and Keelan all had several profiles on the Daily Prophet) and determined to make her family proud, she devoured as much as she could on the traits and values of Gryffindor.
It helped that she did prize these things, having always idealized her mother, but if Hermione valued courage and Ron valued exploration, Rose was unusual in that she valued pathos above all else. The experience, the nature of things, of people. When she was finally Sorted it took four and a half minutes for the hat to contemplate whether Ravenclaw really was a good fit, just like her mother before her.
In the end, though, Rose's innate need to do and see trumped her need to master, and she was placed into the same house as her kin, continuing the Weasley tradition for once and all. Regrettably, Albus, her cousin and childhood best friend, was sorted into Slytherin and this began the rift between them that would continue well into their schooling days. Scorpius, Albus's best friend in the house, receives minimal acknowledgment from the hardheaded Granger-Weasley, but not outright derision.
Being away from her mother and at school, it became quite apparent just how different Rose really was from her family. Rather than conquer by knowledge as Hermione did, Rose conquered by pure physical prowess. She dominated her flying classes, received top marks in Care of Magical Creatures, to which she was permitted early entrance, and had a keen flair for potions. Unfortunately, she had less of a keen flair for homework and essays, but she slogged through them, determined to live up to her mother's expectations.
Anything that she could see, touch, manipulate and smell got her full, undivided attention, and this extended to magic, of which she held a considerable natural talent, although she struggled with more technical branches such as charms and transfiguration, she excelled at Defense Against the Dark Arts' practical modules, having found that her primary magical impetus was movement.
